Hey Kevin, glad to see ya!

It's somewhat based on what GamePC sells, with minor tweaks. My rocket was a GamePC some years ago, and they do some good stuff --- although they're pricey now.

I need to update the above to caution against the A8N... I just RMA'd my second, and my brother (who also is building to the above specs) had A8N problems as well. Not sure what's up with that, perhaps a bad batch, but I'm not looking forward to RMA'ing #3...

Erik,

Looks like you had some help finding some great quiet PC components - or have you just been spending lots of time researching?

I've spent lots of time over the last 3 years researching, trying, and now one of my favorite sites is www.silentpcreview.com for all their reviews, advice, and recommended components.

I'd go for the Antec P150 (their latest) over the P180, but that is more a style choice than a noise choice. Newegg has gotten about 90% of my business over the last 4 years.

I also understand your jet engine, as I to have one - a big ol 5U compaq dual P2-450 w/6 10k scsi in raid 5 that is bansihed to run in exile in the garage ....
