Thanks.... everything worked fine. Only issue is that I had to switch to a non-Vista machine to run the SPVServices.exe ap at the end... imagine that!

I got to the very end, then when I run SPVServices.exe and click on the SIMLock Tool button and type in AGREE a message comes up saying illegal readZone attempt- RAPI init failed. what does this mean, can I still unlock the phone?

PERFECT!!!! You rock!
I had an old 5600 that I got for free from work and wanted to give it to a friend who uses T-Mobile. Followed your instructions and BOOM! Works perfect. Thanks for the GREAT and clear instructions and making this easy to do. Just a note to others, be patient when using the SPV tools as it takes time, but it all works in the end.
Thanks much!

worked great, but I think I got a little ahead of myself. I got a real shock that tops all shocks, AT&T actually sent me the unlock code for my phone today. They were only 2 days late sending it! Now I need to know if there is a way to reverse the application unlock, and use the subsidy unlock. Right now my smt 5600 is application unlocked, a greatful thanks to you and the others that put all this together, but I still see "AT&T WIRELESS " in the upper right hand corner while making or receiving calls. When I called TMOBILE, my service provider, they tell me the phone is application unlocked but the AT&T software is still running in it. I don't know enough about smartphones to know if this is just a tech not trying, or if its the truth. All in all, I am still happy my phone is unlocked, just hate the AT&T WIRELESS on my screen. Any help you can offer would be accepted and appreciated.

Thanks so much... This was really a lifesaver and I am so glad you not only did the heavylifting but also made it available here for us newbies. It really warms my heart. You get the internet good citizen award for info sharing. Seriously...

Need Help Please… I was ablt to run Cert.cab.

But I am not able to run SPVServices.exe. Is just double clicking on the SPVServices.exe would run the program??? I am using IE6 version.

Also I do not see any SIMLock Toggle button. I appreciate if someone can tell me how to run SPVServices.exe.

Thanks a million…

Yes if u double click spvservices.exe it shud work

and as for the Toggle button first you have to click on the SIM Unlock Tool linke on the left side (its under Tools),, click that it will take u to a different screen where u have type AGREE in a text box ,,(it will prompt u for that),, after that you will see the unlock button. Note if u have any firewall the firewall may ask or prevent an exe from running and also when i double click on the spvservices.exe i get a microsoft warning that its not certified or so , so again i had to click on the Run button, hope this helps..

BtwErik ,, thanks a lot so far all instructions worked great,, have to test with a tmobile or some other sim.
