I'm guessing that there's about 3-4 true search fans out there (in the .Net world) who would read a PhD thesis, read papers about all the cool stuff that happened even before google's time.

If things go right, in a couple years, there will be 100 true search fans - by search fans I mean CSci kids who want a name in the search business.  I'm doing my part over at channel 9 :) Scoble said we can get a video! I'm phyched - I want to see the begginings of the biggest search project in history, it will be super cool to see the channel9 response to the MSN Search videos.  I think your blog traffic is going to go up exponentially starting when we get that first video :) 

The funny thing will be all the millions and millions of people who could care less what relevancy means to them but subtley switch over to MSN day by day - who care less who made their life that much more productive!  </description>
