So, I was watching The Daily Show, and this commercial came on for Rhapsody, Real’s subscription music service. It was a cheeseball talking head commercial akin to the 30-second infomercial, telling you to call some 800 number or go to www.103.freerhapsody.com — boy, that’s safe looking site — to get Rhapsody. What was interesting was that “Real” was not mentioned at all!
Perhaps Real is giving up on their brand… or perhaps they’re letting any random schmo advertise and get bounties for Rhapsody sign-ups (wouldn’t be the first time). But man…. it’s like giving away your branding to anyone. Perhaps not a bad thing given Real’s steller stock price, but hey, not like Microsoft has done anything with its price for a couple years either…
Is this for real, where is all the songs that you could browes through. And yes it was free!!! What were they telling lies!!!! (SHAME,SHAME, ON THEM !!)

This is hilarious! I figured it was actually some kind of scam where you would be told to pay a “one time only fee” and end up needing a bank account number or something since it was “free” and no one needed a credit card. Come on all you pissed off people! Nothing in the real known world is ever really “free”. I check out sites all the time and there is always some type of string attached, like “No credit card required” but they want your checking account information or you have to submit to ordering some kind of junk that was not even remotely part of the original deal.

I saw a commercial for “www.51.freerhapsody.com”. In the commercial, they claim that you can download over 1 million songs, absolutely free, no payments, no credit card required. They make it appear to be ‘just download it and you can stream any song you want, completely free’. In there system requirements for the program, they mention nothing about any type of media player. Why? You have to have RealPlayer, (Similar to Windows Media Player) Which requires a monthly payment via credit card, in order for the program Rhapsody to even work. It’s bullshit. Technically, the downloading of music is free with Rhapsody, but the only media program that will play Rhapsody, is RealPlayer, which as mentioned, costs money. Fuck those lying sons of bitches. Don’t get Rhapsody unless you enjoy being scammed.

I just got done watching The Rhapsody commercial and it said absolutly FREE rhapsody. Just go log on and you can burn, send to your friend, and listen to all the new stuff to the old music, I got on line and I couldn’t really find anything just some phony sites. I finally got to something and it wanted you to fill out all your personal info and nothing read anything about being free. It really pissed me off. What a false advertisement.
